A Streetcar Named Justice
When an alleged sexual assault took place on a Toronto streetcar in November, driver Dino Oroc chased after the perpetrator. Despite his noble act, Oroc was suspended by the Toronto Transit Commission for abandoning the streetcar while on duty. Public outrage ensued. “Human nature kicks in, and he did what I hope most men would do,” said the head of the transit workers union in Oroc’s defense. Oroc was eventually reinstated with no loss of wages.
